New Blog Soon

So I've decided to embark on an adventure of blogging and crafting!

I haven't been blogging because I feel like I have nothing to Blog about. I felt as if this has become a diary of sorts, and well the idea of having everything posted on the internet scared the bejeezus out of me! So, instead I'm working on a new blog where I can talk about my crafts and fun adventures in sewing/ sharing my latest projects!

So, here is the deal, I need a really fun, creative title for this new blog, but I can't seem to come up with a super awesome one, so I need your help!

Please post ideas in the comments section and I'm going to pick from that list, or combine some of them together! I greatly appreciate your help!

Now, start thinking of that super, sweet, catchy, fun, inventive, witty title!

What a Winter and Human Trafficking

I'm sitting on my couch looking out the window at lots and lots of ice, fog and snow! What a crazy winter this has been! We've now used 5 snow days at school, and we've only budgeted 4, so now a teacher in-service day has been changed to a school day. All of this is not very good for the teacher who is contracted on a day to day basis. But, the Lord has been good to me!

On this cold, wintry day my father is sitting just a few feet away working on my taxes. What a daddy! Probably the last year I can milk that for all it's worth, and let me tell you, that is not an easy task! I have 3 W-2's, 2 1099's and a mess of other documents because of all of the crazy things I call work! So, I am deeply appreciative of the fact that I don't have to do my taxes again!

With all of this time off, I've had lots of time to relax and reflect. There is just so much going on in the lives of those around me, that I find myself praying more and more often! Take yesterday and monday for example! Sunday night a few friends and I went to see our former youth pastors new church, but we really went down to see a benefit concert where Shane and Shane performed. In the 2 hours in which the concert took place $50,000 were raised! That's crazy! But, it's not really crazy! God moved, he tugged at the hearts of the people saying "Please, help these brothers and sisters, whom you don't know and who live on the opposite side of the world." 60 children are now going to be rescued and kept away from the human trafficking industry.

So, Monday and Tuesday on my way to work I found my self pleading to God to stop human trafficking. Organizations such as A21 Campaign and Remember Neu are making strides towards saving people all over the world from sexual slavery. My prayer is also for this weekend because trafficking is becoming increasingly prevalent in this country and with the Super Bowl coming up this weekend there is going to be an increase in demand, which is more than scary.

So will you pray too? Will you pray for the people attending the Super Bowl that they would not seek out these women, and if anyone brings women into Dallas for work that they would be caught and prosecuted to the fullest extent!
